Largely unknown in the United States, Yael Naim is a French-Israeli singer-songwriter that honed her skills as a soloist in the Israel Air Force Orchestra. But we can only imagine that experience to be a bit stuffy. But “Go To the River,’ the first single from her third album, She Was a Boy is anything but uptight. Naim, if anything, has a knack for fun, whimsical pop songs in the vein of Regina Spektor.
