Song: Yael Naim, “Go To the River”

Largely unknown in the United States, Yael Naim is a French-Israeli singer-songwriter that honed her skills as a soloist in the Israel Air Force Orchestra.  But we can only imagine that experience to be a bit stuffy.  But “Go To the River,’ the first single from her third album, She Was a Boy is anything but uptight.  Naim, if anything, has a knack for fun, whimsical pop songs in the vein of Regina Spektor.
