Best known for his work in the Clientele, Alasdair MacLean has broken off and formed Amor de Días along with Pipas‘ Lupe Núñez-Fernández — and like the lush orchestral-pop MacLean showed a knack for in his previous outfit, Amor de Días continues down that soft pillow-music path, but as this video for “Late Mornings” lets us know, Núñez-Fernández can take charge herself, cultivating a ’60s Brazilian-pop vibe reminiscent of the lovely Astrud Gilberto — all of which sounds great when watching a swirling kaleidoscope such as this.
