Colorado’s Moon Duo have quietly been separating themselves from psychedelic pack by doing it the old fashion way: Honing in on a Velvet Underground-meets-’60s San Francisco stoner groove, filtered through a Luna/Galaxie 500 delivery. “Mazes,” the title track from their latest effort, twists and turns while Ripley Johnson speak-sings about, well, getting lost in a maze. Classic psych-fodder for those late night mindbenders.
