The third episode of MTV2′s 120 Minutes with Matt Pinfield airs Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 3am ET/ 12m PT on MTV2. During the episode, Matt asks bands to think back to the moment they first heard Nirvana. Below get a sneak peek at Friendly Fires, Girl Talk and Foster the People recalling their earliest Nevermind memories. In Friendly Fires’ clip, lead singer Ed Macfarlane talks about putting down his Chaos Dwarf to headbang to “Smells Like Teen Spirit” the first time he heard it. In a way, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” saved him from a life of nerdom.
