Bleached, “Think of You” — Song

L.A. sister duo Bleached had a specific idea in mind when it came to crafting the two tracks — “Think Of You” and “You Take Time” — that appear on their new 7-inch, Carter. “We knew we wanted these songs to have a Misfits and Ramones sound but also trying to go for a Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty vibe,” says Jennifer Clavin, who plays in the group with her sister Jessica.

“Think Of You,” the single off the 7-inch, is a vintage-sounding rocker, equal parts riot grrl punk and ‘60s Nuggets-rock. The story behind the gritty number is fairly simple: “It just kinda came out of me while I was playing guitar one day during a time when I was going through a break up with a long term boyfriend,” Jennifer says. Such is fodder for Bleached’s current path down the vinyl road: Later this year, they’ll release another 7-inch that’s “about love and boys and growing up and having fun,” Jennifer says. As the old saying goes, boys will be boys, and girls will write songs about ‘em.
