New Orleans bounce queen Big Freedia (who Hive last mentioned when Ryan Gosling shared a stage with her at Fun Fun Fun Fest) visited Brooklyn this past weekend (Nov. 26). The sweaty, booty-filled show took place at Public Assembly’s front room and it was the most packed Hive’s photographer Rebecca Smeyne had ever seen the venue. That had its downsides: “It was so crowded, there was hardly room to move, let alone bend over,” Smeyne tells Hive. Fortunately the stage had plenty of room for Freedia’s back-up dancers. And, as you’ll see below, when there wasn’t enough room on stage to bend over, her dancers just stacked butts like a Jenga tower.
