London electro-rock five-piece Duologue takes a winding road towards a finished song and this early tune “Zeros,” is no exception.
“Like a lot of our stuff it started as an electronic idea we were knocking around for a while,” says vocalist Tim Digby-Bell. “And like a lot of our stuff one day we sat down with a guitar and a keyboard in front of it and wrote the song. Then we went back to the electronics and reworked it.” Even the recording of the energetic, engaging cut was done in a roundabout way.
“[Zeros] was made with bits and bobs from all over the place,” Digby-Bell continues. “The guitars were taken at one place, violins another, vocals another. We went to our rehearsal room and recorded ourselves hitting the drums in different ways then chopped them all up and messed around with them.”
A complicated mess, but fantastic sounding one at that.
