By all accounts, the Shins are a serious band. Ever hear “New Slang?” Exactly. But it’s not all serious indie rock, all the time. Check out this Funny or Die behind-the-scenes footage of a “recording session,” where Shins frontman James Mercer just can’t seem to get that pivotal handclap down. They’ve come along way since the days of opening for Chicken Enchiladas. Sort of.
