Regina Spektor Saves Trapped Art in “All the Rowboats” Video

Yesterday, Frankie Rose released a video for “Night Swim” that featured a swimmer wrestling with some underwater apparitions, and today Regina Spektor takes the plunge with her own watery tale of angst in “All the Rowboats.” Those who soured on Spektor after her forgettable 2009 album far, take notice: from the first few notes of “Rowboats” and the accompanying images, it’s clear she’s headed down a darker path. And in this case, the path involves freeing trapped oil paintings from stodgy museums. Watch and listen.

Spektor’s new album, What We Saw From the Cheap Seats, arrives May 29 on Sire.
