Soundwich Makes Music Discovery Delicious

So basically — at this point — there are so many music discovery apps out there that we could probably use an app to help us discover which music discovery apps we should use to discover music (Wait, what?). That’s probably why hacks like Soundwich — which creates a tasty food-themed music info medley — rise to the top of our consciousness during events like Music Hack Day Amsterdam.

Soundwich is a pretty simple concept: Type in a band’s name (a prompt will help you think of one) and the app will start playing jams from that act, as well as spit out a “soundwich” of musical information: top albums, similar bands, genre, etc. The ‘wich also contains an applicable Drinkify recipe, which is a nice twist. If you’re unfamiliar, Drinkify is a fun app out of Music Hack Day Boston that turns your favorite band into a cocktail recipe.

You could probably surface all of this information — and more — via a search engine, but Google and Co. aren’t likely to arrange all the ingredients so appetizingly, are they? We didn’t think so.
