In case you didn’t know, Vampire Weekend‘s bassist Chris Baio keeps himself busy moonlighting as a DJ under his last name. And now’s he’s legit! Next month, Baio’s releasing a four-song EP called Sunburn on Greco-Roman, the electronic label co-run by Hot Chip‘s Joe Goddard. Below, stream first offering “Tanto,” which has a surprisingly nice downtempo-meets-calypso vibe and features vocals from Chilean electronic musician Matias Aguayo (he also did the vocals on Battles’ “Ice Cream”). But let’s all resist the urge to label it “prep-tempo” or something terrible like that. [Via Pitchfork]
