What do you do while a single you produced is climbing the Billboard charts: Count your Usher dollars? Take meetings with Rihanna? Count your Usher dollars while taking meetings with Rihanna?
So collaborating with a little-known Vermont moombahton group isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. But when you’re Diplo, it makes perfect sense to tap the Green Mountain State’s Lazerdisk Party Sex for your next big move. “Set It Off” comes from his upcoming EP Express Yourself and it’s moombahton track at heart, sitting between dancehall, reggaeton and EDM, layering dembow drums and a complimentary bass kick with a groaning mid-filling riff and a high-pitched bubble-gun synth. In other words, it’s classic Diplo, schizophrenic as ever.
