British electronic pop trio the xx have shared “Angels,” the first single from their highly anticipated sophomore set Coexist. The song is direct about its intentions: it features vocalist/guitarist Romy Madley Croft repeating rather sultry lyrics about someone “being as in love with you as I am” over a distant guitar line, a sound that’s fast becoming their signature. This is either one of the greatest love songs of 2012 or the one of the greatest songs sung from a stalker’s perspective of 2012.
