Nas Affirms ‘Life is Good’ at His New York City Release Party

Nas’ 10th studio effort, Life is Good, was received warmly this week by critics and fans alike, who praised the no-nonsense album as a refreshing concoction of ear-canal-cleaning beats weighted with surprisingly life-affirming lyrics. Last night, at his relatively intimate album release party at Tammany Hall in New York City, life indeed seemed good for the typically serious Nasir, who was all smiles on stage. The set list was a combination of all-time classics and some of the stronger Life Is Good cuts, including lead single “The Don,” the heartwarming “Daughters” and the brooding street anthem “Accidental Murderers.” New York City cult favorite AZ made an on-stage cameo, as did Swizz Beatz, who handled the hook on “Summer on Smash.” Check out Hive photographer Loren Wohl‘s full gallery below:
