Dear Andrew,
As someone who likes to wear all white, do you have any tips for getting stains out?
There’s not much you can do. You can use very, very, very large quantities of bleach, but not only is that not very good for the water supply, and the environment in general, but it breaks apart the fragile threads and gentle fabrics of the clothes themselves. So I’ve always embraced having those stains, and wearing them with pride. At this point, it’s not really white clothing anymore. It’s sort of beige, off-white, yellow, and occasionally tan, if not copper-colored clothing. It takes so much more energy to party, and I feel like that is where I’d rather be putting my energy, rather than trying to carefully do laundry.
