This just in: Azealia Banks loves fashion! The Harlem starlet’s latest video is for “1991,” the title track from her recent four-track EP. The visual plays out like an animated flick through the pages of an early-’90s issue of Vogue magazine: Banks sports an all-black pant-suit and cavorts around what looks like the studio set of a high-end fashion photoshoot. Flanked by a couple of back-up dancers who seemingly escaped from Madonna’s “Vogue” video, Banks sasses it up for the camera while rapping over a beat that pays tribute to the dance-music vibe of her birth year. It’s a suitably slick package, but we’re still waiting for her to shoot a flick on her beloved (if tawdry) A train.
