MF Doom Takes Over BBC Radio One

Underground hip hop artist/lover of masks MF DOOM has only made a handful of media appearances over the years, but his followers are content nonetheless, judiciously replaying his loops in cloudy living rooms for over two decades now. This past Thursday, DOOM took over Benji B’s Radio One show for two hours, which yielded an unexpected treat for patient fans who’ve never heard Daniel Dumile speak candidly. In it, he’s relaxed, straightforward, and even quite charming. DOOM talks upcoming projects (yes, Madvillainy 2 is coming this year), and offers anecdotes about meeting Madlib and running with KMD in 1988. During the show, Benji and Dumile spin everything from KMD’s “Peach Fuzz” to the more recent “Gazillion Ear” and everything in between, including Viktor Vaughn, Madvillain and Special Herbs cuts. Doom explains his lack of content control succinctly: “Everything I do I share.” We’ll do the same. [Listen to MF Doom's Radio One Takeover here.]
