Sourcing found footage for your video has become a bit cliché at this point (thank you very much, Lana), but this latest flick from Pro Era lieutenant Capital STEEZ does it right. The track is “Free the Robots,” a stand-out from his Amerikkkan Korruption mixtape and finds the Brooklyn rapper slouching on a dingy couch in front of a TV, while a rapid-fire succession of images flash up on the screen and run through the rapper’s brain. The visual cut-and-paste trip is an insomniac’s nightmare, where the depths of cable TV flood the eyeballs and cause paranoid commentary referencing the Illuminati, Osama Bin Laden and the ever-impending apocalypse. Anyway, sit back, watch, an do like STEEZ: attempt to process the gazillion images you’ve just seen.
