Desert Noises Are Bittersweet on “I Won’t See You”

Desert Noises couldn’t have picked a more fitting name. The Utah Valley, UT., four-piece make the kind of sun-sinking alt-Americana that’s perfect to reach for when on the road, and their latest song “I Won’t See You” feels especially vast. There isn’t a wasted note in the weepy guitar driven tune and the group, comprised of Kyle Henderson, Tyler Osmond, Patrick Boyer, and Brennan Allen, pair their roomy twangs with a lyrical openness too. “The song is about the bittersweet ending of a long relationship,” Henderson told Hive. “While trying all you can to save the last pieces, you know you’re watching it die.” Even though the breakup is inevitable, they communicate their resignation with a gentle sway.
