On Austin, Texas indie-rock band Frank Smith‘s new album Nineties, the band pays homage to — you guessed it — the ’90s. But think less Saved by the BellĀ and more Pavement and Posies, as you can hear in their new track, the brilliantly titled “Beaten Sacks of Death.” “[The song] is basically about a friend of mine always needing a ride home at the end of the night,” Frank Smith’s Aaron Sinclair tells Hive. “I would always tell him he could come sleep at my place but there was no way I was gonna give him a ride to his … maybe I would in the morning. That is usually when we look like beaten sacks of death.”
Nineties is out April 2. Stream “Beaten Sacks of Death” below.
