New York via Chicago DJ Brenmar sits in a unique place along the dance music spectrum and his V Magazine mix is a perfect cross-sectional case study. Here, Brenmar mixes +130 BPM juke, ballroom battle beats, future-tinged hip-hop and classic R&B into a pitch-black medley of braggadocious dance jams. DJ Buzzy’s uptempo remix of Mya’s “Case of the Ex” is an early highlight, followed up later by Brenmar’s tempo-shifting remix of Dom Kennedy’s “My Type of Party.” Besides some original production, look out for music from DJ Q, Riton, King L and Fabolous to round out the mix. “Give me a decent sound and equipment and we can have a good party anywhere,” he tells V Magazine.
