On Tremor Low‘s new single “Give Blood,” the brooding Oakland, Calif. band tells the tale of a boy who wanders into the woods and encounters some unlikely suitors. ”[He] meets some bloodless monsters,” explains vocalist/guitarist Don Bellenger. “He decides he likes their way of life better, but they require that he gives all his blood. He does it, but regrets it.” And while regret certainly sounds like a benchmark of Bellenger’s baritone, he says that the tune strikes a balance between their different personalities. “This song hit a high-water mark for the band,” he says. “It also shows that we can take a really slow song and still turn it into a body-shaking anthem that’s fun to listen to.”
