Listen to Hands Vent on “The Game Is Changing Us”

On “The Game Is Changing Us,” the new single from L.A.’s Hands, the group fuses electronics, layers of synth, hard-hitting bass and two sequences of jagged guitar solos so well you hardly notice there’s no chorus. Initial inspiration came by way of the N64 game Waverunner, but the lyrics written by lead singer Geoff Halliday provide a deeper sensibility. “There’s a lot of bullshit we do from day to day that we don’t want to do, so this was my stream of consciousness way of venting about that,” explains Halliday. “We wanted to create a fun, dancing song. It’s definitely one we all kept coming back to.”

Hands’ debut album, Synesthesia, arrives April 30 on Kill Rock Stars. Stream “The Game Is Changing Us” below:
