In Futurebirds‘ new video for “Virginia Slims,” the Athens, Ga.-based band pair their warm and inviting guitars with a heavy dose of nostalgia — it’ll especially resonate if you ever experienced the joys of fireworks growing up. “[The video] is about being that age where you’re still a kid but overcome with that itch to get out, to be older,” says guitarist/vocalist Carter King. “You get your kicks however you can and you have to be creative at that age too. You can’t just go to the liquor store with a $20 bill. Fireworks are a universal vice for the middle schooler in everybody, not to mention, they look really sweet in slow motion.” We wholeheartily agree.
Futurebirds new album, Baba Yaga, is out April 16 on Fat Possum.
