22-year-old Australian singer/songwriter Owl Eyes is a savvy engineer of progressive pop landscapes. In her video for “Closure,” she touches on feelings of nostalgia, regret and numbness in front of a group of emotionally distraught acolytes. “The idea subverts the concept of a classic choreographic video,” says director Jackson Dickie. “Devolving it from a highly controlled expression into an emotionally possessed apocalypse.” And as the ending of the video would indicate, sometimes a cold shower is the ultimate cure for uncontrollable fervor.
Owl Eyes debut album Night Swim is out Friday, April 19th in Australia on Wunderkind/Illusive Sounds.
