What Was Darling Parade’s Favorite Moment Of 2013?

A lot of artists had big years in 2013, but not all bands are celebrating with an Artist To Watch Live livestream. Yup, MTV Hive is primed to round out the year with one more show, and that show will feature O Music Awards winners Darling Parade.

Nashville natives Darling Parade were the winners of the Make A Band Famous at the 2013 iteration of the O Music Awards, beating out fellow nominees Chill Moody, The So So Glos, Striking Matches and Syd Arthur for the coveted prize: a performance at VMA weekend and certified Artist To Watch status.

Now, the pop punk band is taking the stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg for a special show, which will stream on MTV Hive at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday, December 12.

The performance caps off a big year for the band, the highlight of which was, according to lead singer Kristin Kearns, “winning the O Music Awards.”

The band also released their debut LP — Battle Scars and Broken Hearts — in 2013, so that’s saying something!

“Winning the Make A Band Famous award was amazing,” added guitarist Nate McCoy. “We had tried so hard for the whole year before that. We got nominated, we had our fans vote and the day of we had no idea whether or not we were going to win and we were lucky enough to have Hunter Hayes tell us that we won.”

The band’s fans have been a driving force in its career thus far, raising $16,000 to fund the aforementioned album. “Everybody pulled together, and it was unbelievable,” bassist Dustin McCoy told MTV News during the awards. “We raised more money than we expected.”

We’re sure the fans will turn out in droves once more to check out Darling Parade’s show tomorrow night — make sure you’re one of them!
